Quotes

America is in a mess because we have cursed, [and] mocked God. We have not obeyed His word. -Pastor Jim Bakker

Narrative

Pastor Jim Bakker gives an update of Lori’s House, which will be a place of refuge for those faced with the choice of abortion. During his message, Pastor Jim noted how ancient Israel sinned by sacrificing babies to idols and equated that to the high number of abortions taking place in America today. He predicted that the work of Lori’s House will be the number one thing to save America.

Pastor Jim then proceeded into Part Two of his 2012 message, continuing on the theme of “Confusion.” Signs of confusion prevail everywhere, he said, adding that we are in a time of tribulation or great pressure, particularly in the economic and financial realms. Stock markets around the world are crashing, and there seems to be no strong leadership coming from any nation. This, he explained, will set the stage for the rise of the antichrist who comes in the midst of confusion, proclaiming to have the solution to the world’s problems.

Since God is not the author of confusion, Pastor Jim said the church should be organized and found obedient to God’s word. Anything short of that, he said, leads to the curses outlined in Deuteronomy 14. The biblical number 12 relates to organization and he said 2012 will be a year to get things in order, particularly in the church.

Pastor Jim revisited the topic of abortion when discussing 1 Timothy 3:4, which says people will become lovers of pleasure rather than of God. Pastor Jim outlined how the people of America love pleasure and prosperity and love money, which the Bible calls the root of all evil. Babies, he said, cramp the lifestyle of some, caught up in the ways of the world, who would rather seek abortions than give up their lives of indulgence and sin.

All the signs of confusion in society, Pastor Jim said, are allowed by God as a result of the disobedience of the people. He stressed the need for believers to study the word of God for themselves because false doctrines, also part of confusion, can only take root when people lack a full and complete knowledge of what is in the word. He also gave a very brief teaser as to what the second word of warning for 2012 is: Explosions. The term will be the focus of the next part of his 2012 Message series.
