A Chinese foreign ministry spokesman stated their unity with Russia in opposing any outside intervention in the looming civil war in Syria. The spokesman urged support for the peace plan offered by the UN that has proven unable to stop the violence as government troops have continued to massacre citizens.

The United Nations is reporting that on the heels of the Houla massacre observers have found 13 shooting victims apparently executed outside the city of Deir al-Zour.
The men were found with their hands bound behind their backs with most shot in the head. UN leadership in the country is characterizing the actions as an “appalling and inexcusable act.” Continue reading →
Following the government slaughter of 49 children and 34 women in Houla, Syria, several Western nations have announced they are expelling Syrian diplomats. The United States, UK, France, Germany, Spain, Canada, Italy and Australia have announced they were ordering Syrian diplomats to leave their countries.

At least 47 children were among the 108 murdered by Syrian government troops in the town of Houla. Witnesses told the BBC that the killings were carried out by the Syrian army and civilian militia working with the troops.
“They had no mercy,” opposition activist Hamza Omar told the BBC. “Children, under 10 years, their hands tied and shot at close range. By knife they cut their neck, not exactly all his neck, but they make a hole in the neck, a hole in his eyes.” Continue reading →
The UN has issued a report stating that the Syrian Army is responsible for the most serious human rights abuses in the nation since March 2012.
The report listed many “unlawful killings” conducted by Syrian military forces to stop anti-government demostrations in Idlib, Hama, Damascus and four other cities & numerous villages.

World powers have a growing concern that the unrest in Syria could lead to terrorists gaining control of a secret stockpile of chemical weapons. Syria is one of eight nations to refuse to join the 1997 Chemical Weapons Convention meaning there’s no way to know the amount of chemical weapons or the types of weapons currently under the control of the Syrian government. At least four people have been killed as Syrian forces raided student accommodations in the city of Aleppo.
Forces opened fire with live ammunition on an anti-government protest outside Aleppo University student dormitories. In addition to the shooting of students, tear gas was used to disperse protestors.
