Dramatic Rise In Syrian Civilian Deaths

Civilian casualities in Idlib and Hama have dramatically risen according to Amnesty International’s report that government forces are indiscriminately firing missiles and making air strikes into civilians neighborhoods.

The Amnesty International report says that the international community has not seen the war crimes happening in the two provinces because media outlets have been focused on the fighting in the larger cities of Damascus and Aleppo. Continue reading

EU Leaders Closer To “European Government”

The leaders of 11 European Union nations are putting plans in place to make the 27-nation bloc more of a “European government” that would direct elect it’s leader who then would appoint a continent-wide government.

The “Future of Europe Group” headed by German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle released a report that says the current Eurozone crisis has caused a “crisis of confidence” in the EU. A result of the crisis, the report states, is a necessity for a stronger European Commission and a directly elected head of the Commission. Continue reading

Terrorist Group Kills Seven in Turkey

The PKK, recently given official terrorist group designation by the US government, has launched another attack against Turkish soldiers killing seven and injuring at least 56 others.

The terrorists attacked a convoy with rockets. Most of the injured came from a nearby bus that caught fire during the attack. The group has recently ratcheted up their attacks on government forces without concern for civilian collateral damage. Top Militant Killed In Nigeria

The BBC is reporting that the spokesman for the Al-Qaeda related terrorist group Boko Haram has been killed by Nigerian military forces.

A military spokesman told the BBC that two militants had been taken into custody by military forces and that one of the two men had later died while in custody. Boko Haram is refusing to confirm that their spokesman, Abu Qaqa, is the man who died while in government custody. Continue reading

Terrorist Threats Made To Multiple Colleges

The University of Texas was evacuated Friday morning after a man with a middle-eastern accent called the school claiming to be with Al-Qaeda and said he had planted bombs throughout the campus.

The call arrived around 8:35 a.m. with a warning the bombs would go off in 90 minutes. University officials posted a message on the campus’ emergency alert website at 9:53 a.m. telling people to “immediately evacuate ALL buildings and get as far away as possible.” Continue reading
