Judge Keeps Mississippi Abortion Clinic Open

A Mississippi judge has allowed the murder of babies to continue by putting on hold the law that would close the state’s only abortion clinic.

US District Judge Daniel Jordan did not give an expiration time for the order. The Jackson Women’s Health Organization sought a temporary restraining order while they prepare a lawsuit against the state’s new law requiring doctors who perform abortions to have admitting rights at a nearby hospital. California Cities Could Disappear Due To Debts

California cities are increasingly considering filing for bankruptcy or even folding after San Bernardino became the third California city in the last month to seek bankruptcy protection. Multiple cities have been slashing budgets and employee salaries in an attempt to reign in debts.

WHO Finds Cause of Mystery Cambodian Illness

The World Health Organization has found the cause of a mysterious illness that has killed over 60 children who died within 48 hours of being hospitalized. WHO says the condition is caused by a combination of pathogens.

Enterovirus 71, streptococcus suis and dengue fever were part of the cocktail of diseases. The problem was compounded by doctors using steroids to treat the illness which suppressed the immune system. Continue reading

Homicide Bomber Kills Six In Yemen

A homicide bomber attacked the police academy in the capital of Yemen killing six and injuring dozens.

Islamic militants in the country have been vowing to continue a campaign of terror in what they term “retaliation” for the military destroying terrorist strongholds. Ansar al-Sharia, an al-Qaeda affiliate based in the Arabian Peninsula, claimed responsibility for the murders. Continue reading

Muslim Man Accused Of Murdering Daughter in 2003

A Muslim man on trial for the murder of his 17-year-old daughter in 2003 has had his wife come forward to claim he’s guilty of the crime.

Farzana Ahmed, also on trial for the killing of Shafilea Ahmed, told prosecutors that her husband Ifitkar attacked their daughter and that she had tried to stop him. After her husband punched and pushed her away, she hid in a bedroom with other children until she heard a car leaving 20 minutes later. Continue reading

China Officials Accused Of Another Late Term Abortion

The BBC reported another allegation of Chinese officials forcing a woman into an abortion on Tuesday.

Pan Chunyan reportedly was taken to a hospital by force in her 8th month of pregnancy after paying a fine for having an additional child. She was captured by a group of government workers on April 6th, taken to a hospital by force and given an injection. She had a still birth two days later. Continue reading

Egyptian President’s Attempt To Open Parliament Refused

Egyptian President Mohammed Mursi’s attempt to reopen the country’s parliament has been rejected by Egypt’s highest court. The court had previously ruled the election of most of the parliament was unconstitutional and required new elections.

Mursi, who claims to have resigned from the Muslim Brotherhood but is still closely affiliated with the group, wants to get the parliament back in service because most of the seats in the tainted election were won by Muslim Brotherhood candidates. Continue reading

Russian Flash Flooding Kills Over 170

Flash flooding in the Krasnodar region killed at least 171 people on Friday night with local officials admitting they were unable to give adequate warning. Two local leaders have already been dismissed because of the incident and President Vladimir Putin has demanded a full report of the incident.

In addition to the deaths, at least 17 people are missing and 210 people have been hospitalized including almost 50 children. Continue reading
